A simple visual analogue pain score to help doctors and patients

communicate the severity of pain. 

Using the well validated concept of a visual analogue score in

combination with a modified Wong-Baker ‘Faces’ Pain scale and

written descriptions in three languages (English, French, and German).

The ‘score’ may be revealed or hidden during the scoring process.

The patient may either slide a slider to any point on a 0 to 10 scale or press the (modified)

‘Wong-Baker’ face corresponding to the intensity of his or her pain.
